Dutch foreign minister seeks to help Indonesia avoid palm oil ban : Biofuels Digest

In Indonesia, the Jakarta Globe reports that the Dutch foreign minister met with his Indonesian counterpart to discuss how to keep the European market and particularly the Dutch market open to palm oil imports despite a tripartite agreement made two weeks ago by the European Parliament, European Commission and European member states to ban its use in renewable fuels by 2030. Palm oil is the country’s largest export product to the Netherlands and is concerned about the impacts on its economy should the market be closed.
